interactive sensor displays
Today’s liquid crystal displays use thin film transistors (TFTs) located at each to pixel to control the image you see on the screen. At Sharp Laboratories of Europe however, we have gone one better and created pixels that not only control the light you see, but also sense the light reaching the pixels themselves from the surroundings. This opens up a host of exciting new possibilities for user interaction, such as displays that show you a picture but at the same time can optically detect your fingers or even your finger prints.
