Sharp Laboratories invention used to revolutionise laptop
Today Sharp launched a laptop with a revolutionary optical sensor LCD pad.
The 4-inch display accepts stylus, finger and multi-touch input through the built in optical sensors.
This technology, which was invented in Oxford and developed by colleagues in Japan, is far superior to conventional displays with added touch screen components.
Researchers at Sharp Laboratories invented a way to put an optical sensor next to every pixel of a high resolution display. Extensive hardware and software development in Japan was necessary to bring the technology to market.
