A key part of Sharp Laboratories of Europe, the European Design Centre, is engaged in product development for Sharp's European customers.
Working hand-in-hand with some of the biggest telecom and automotive players in the industry, the EDC is a dynamic and global operation that takes responsibility for new technology introduction, sub-system design and component development.
In order to achieve business success, we work in close cooperation with our engineering and design colleagues in Japan and with our sales and marketing teams in Europe. Most importantly, our engineers work in close technical partnership with our customers' engineers, ensuring our customers' products have the high quality display and imaging solutions that they need.

The European Design Centre is supported with extensive lab facilities with display metrology equipment to verify optical, electronic and mechanical performance. CAD tools are used extensively to develop the designs and simulate optical and electronic performance. Finite Element Modeling has been introduced to ensure mechanical robustness.
